One of the bible verses repeated often references God's promise to never leave nor forsake us. After the umpteenth time of hearing it, I wondered what he really meant by that. There are too many times you see that there is a limit. Broken the law, fines or jail time; hurt in a relationship, it's over; lying often, no one trusts you; there is always that line that is crossed. So doesn't God have a line too? I thought that there was a line that once I crossed it, too much sin could pull me away from Him. That I would always mess up and consistently stray from the righteous path.

Boy was I full of folly! The idea that He would just up and leave me was a constant fear. Yet so much of scripture points to the antithesis. 

In Matthew 6:9-15, Jesus teaches us the basic principles of a prayer. 

"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not me their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

He shows us the love of forgiveness through his daily bread that he rains down on us. The word of God helps us combat all the feelings and emotions that try to pull us away.
